Mongoose Publishing: New Mongoose game just announced by Victrix - Warriors of Antiquity, covering skirmishes in the Ancient World.
We are also running 2 participation games (during Salute) using our forth coming "Warriors of Antiquity" rules. Warriors of Antiquity is a fast play set of rules based on warbands in the ancient world. It is an action packed and a very bloody game that suits gamers who like to manage a game in a relatively short space of time on a moderately sized table (4 foot x 4 foot is more than adequate). It is not designed to re-enact Cannae but if you want a fast play game using warbands of up to 60 figures featuring scenarios such as slave and cattle raids, ambushes, looting etc this is the game for you.
Units are points based and much of the fun is deciding the make up of your warband. Will you use your finances to buy a few heavily armoured Hoplites or Legionaries or have a more numerous warband based on lightly armoured archers and javelin men. You will also want to think about investing in good leaders or even a hero but remember these do not come cheap. To add an even more exciting layer you can customise individual figures with particular weapons and equipment. Come and have a game at Salute 2015 and get a flavour for this exciting new rule system.
